Perhaps the most lasting legacy of the John Smith 400 Project will be the tens-of thousands of students who will learn about the history of the Bay and of Smith's expedition though a comprehensive, curriculum developed by Sultana Projects in conjunction with the Maryland State Department of Education and the Friends of the John Smith Chesapeake National Water Trail. The John Smith curriculum will expose students from throughout the region to this important piece of our history and will become a benchmark in Chesapeake history education for years to come.
