The John Smith shallop will arrive at the National Colonial Farm to commemorate John Smith's 1608 voyage of exploration.  Come to the farm’s waterfront to see the shallop and meet the crew.  There is an entry fee to visit the farm.

Although lower on the Potomac, Smith and his crew were received in a hostile manner by the Indians living along the Potomac, Smith noted that as the shallop proceeded to the northern reaches of the river, they were approached by men in canoes who "did their best to content us."
