The Captain John Smith
Chesapeake National Historic Trail

Sultana's Captain John Smith Four Hundred Project is proud to help inaugurate the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail, America's first all-water National Historic Trail.  Established in 2006 by an Act of Congress, the trail follows the routes of John Smith's 17th century Chesapeake Bay explorations.  Overseen by the National Park Service, the John Smith Trail will allow modern-day adventurers to explore the Chesapeake while learning about Native American history, early English settlement and the Chesapeake's abundant natural resources.
